If anyone knows Bollywood, it's Tibetans! With that in mind, I hope to make their night everything they see in the movies, and more!

Belly Dance is taking the Bollywood scene by storm. To take your Bollywood dancing up a notch and get in a killer belly workout, you'll want to take this fun workshop.

Through this specialty 1 hr & 15 minute workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of belly dance and experience different styles from Egyptian to Turkish. You’ll also get your hand at how to use veils while you dance.

This workshop is designed for women of all ages and levels. Come dressed to workout. Hip scarves provided during class .

Women's Self Defense Workshop For Beginners - Workout While Learning Safety

Have you ever had your purse or wallet stolen or know someone who has? Ever wondered what you would do if you were being followed at night or how to determine what is unsafe?

Through this specialty 1 hr & 30 minute workshop, you'll have fun learning how to detect real life-threatening situations and techniques on how to protect yourself should you need to. This workshop is designed for women of all ages and levels with no or limited self-defense training.

We’ll cover topics such as how to get out of wrist grabs, choke holds, purse and bag left situations, and more. Group/Pair practices will be implemented to help with the learning process. Come dressed for light exercise.

Kindly note: this will be lead by a caring and qualified male instructor and Sumera will be present.

Fusion Cardio Toronto is all about fusing unique and popular fitness programs together to make exercising fun, exciting, and most importantly, inspiring for women, girls, and kids.

With Bollywood dance cardio programs growing across Toronto, so should a Bollywood program with a focus on strength-training and flexibility.

Research indicates that having strong bones and muscles are key to preventing injuries and fractures and can help make every day activities such as picking up your kids and walking up steps easier. Strong bones can also help prevent osteoporosis (a disease that can cause the bones to break easily) and help manage arthritis a condition experienced at greater rates by Canadian women than men (link).

Sumera will be introducing Barre Dance Fitness Programs this Fall, including Bolly-Barre.

Supported by the Toronto Arts Council, The Newcomers Dance Too! Program aims to promote healthy active living for newcomer and refugee women and girls to Toronto.

Settling into a new country can be one of the most stressful and emotionally draining processes in one’s life. Especially for those who do not speak the language, have a job, or have any friends or family to support them as they settle into their new home.

Sumera and some of Toronto’s wonderful dance artists, including Zahira from Dragon Fly Belly Dance Company, are happy to use the health benefits associated with dance and fitness to support the well-being of newcomers living in the Flemingdon Park community.

Mom and Baby Fitness Fall Registration Is Now Open

Returning this fall to the Bloor/Runnymede location, this class provides moms with a chance to bond with their babies and other moms through dance, to exercise and strengthen their core/tummy muscles, and to get loose and have some fun. Research has shown that a mom's participation in physical activities increases their child's participation in physical activities later on.

Accepting babies 4 months & up. Toddlers are welcome to join as long as they are kept engaged too!

Mom and Baby Pound Fit Returns This Spring

Mom and Baby Pound Fit classes are returning to Runnymede United Center for the Spring.

Pound Fit combines resistance-training, cardio, and drumming to get the heart rate up to a fat burning zone. The best part about this class is that you get to do it alongside your baby and other moms in Toronto. All classes are small, friendly, and can be taken on a drop-in basis or for the entire session.

In 2016, Participation gave Canadian kids a grade of D- for physical activity for the 3rd year in a row (read more here)

To tackle this issue, Sumera will be expanding her dance classes to the High Park area in hopes of making exercise fun for girls 8 to 13 yrs old. Classes combine easy to follow dance moves, exercises, and popular world music. The goal is to give girls the chance to develop basic movement and coordination girls to help them participate in future organized activities with confidence while exposing them to world music and culture right here in the city.

Fusion Cardio Toronto wants to make exercise fun for girls 8 to 12 yrs-old by offering a fun Girls World Dance Fit class.

Girl's World Dance Fit is a dance-based exercise class that combines easy to follow dance moves and exercises to popular Popular World music. Girls get to learn cool moves to songs ranging from Canada’s Justin Bieber to Cuba’s Pitbull. Giving them the opportunity to experience world arts and culture right here in the city. Bonuses include improved self-confidence and fitness levels, doing better in school, and opportunities for making new friends.

No dance experience required. This is low to moderate physical activity to accommodate girls of all fitness levels and skills.

To get you ready for your first class, all you have to do is:

1. Send me a message below with your name and voucher number

2. A code will be sent to you within 24-hours that you can then use to redeem towards classes. A redeemed voucher must be used consecutively and expires after 30 days. Cancellation, rescheduling and all other registration policies can be found, here.

3. Fill out and bring the Waiver and PARQ Forms attached to your registration emails to your first class. Read more on what to bring and wear on the new beginner's page.
