Kid’s Fitness and Safety Programs in High Park - Bloor West
Kids Fitness: Fundamentals
(Ages 6 to 9)
Many young kids and athletes go straight into specific sports or dance without first building a strong movement foundation. To truly thrive, they need a mix of physical literacy and lots of fun games.
Through jumping, throwing, catching, mobility work, and interactive partner drills, I introduce kids to essential training in a highly supportive environment. As a certified children’s fitness coach with NCCP and youth strength and conditioning training, I blend NCCP fundamental movement skills with sport-specific drills in every class. One week we might focus on throwing and catching skills, and the next on jumping and sprinting mechanics. This diverse approach builds the confidence your child needs to excel in any sport or art they choose, while actively reducing their risk of injury as they grow.
While this public program run seasonally in the Fall and Spring, I am available to design and instruct custom youth programs (4 to 6 weeks) for private clubs and gyms, community centres, schools, and sports teams and other groups upon request. To speak with me, click here.
Kids Fitness: Strength and Conditioning For Ages 9-12 & 13-17
This program teaches youth the principals of strength and conditioning. Many kids start sports without basic movement skills, which raises their risk of injury. My goal is to give youth who enjoy playing sports recreationally or competitively the tools to stay safe, healthy, and playing for years to come!
While programs are for multi-sport, I focus on those in baseball, softball, lacrosse and dancers. All programs include games and pair work to create a fun and positive experience.
6-week programs:
Conditioning: Introduction to agility, jump, and sprint training
Strength: Introduction to building strength (squats, dead lift variations, and chest presses)
Flexibility training
Both myself and select coaches have designed and instructed custom youth programs for private schools and sports teams upon request. To speak with me, click here.
Girl’s Street Safety & Situational Awareness Workshops (Ages 8 to 13)
Our hope is to give girls the confidence and awareness to tackle the school year - whether they are walking home from school, hanging out with friends, traveling by bus to a sports class, or heading to a volunteer opportunity.
Our beginner-level classes are super fun! We use games, drills, and lots of group practice built around real-world scenarios so they can naturally retain what they learn. They will learn beginner defensive stances, learn practical escape techniques for common attacks, and learn about gut instincts and situational awareness.
Sessions are led by fitness professionals and martial artists with years of experience supporting both women and kids. Parents can rest easy knowing there is absolutely NO sparring or combat training involved.
I have been running a free annual youth dance and street safety series since 2019 in 6 communities. I am available to create and offer one-time workshops for schools, after school clubs, community centers, and community groups upon request. To speak with me, click here.
