About Our Kid’s Fitness Programs

Through our programs, kids will learn how much fun exercising can be without knowing it.

Kid’s Yoga classes combine animal poses and world safari themes and rhythms to create a fun movement experience. The goal of the program is to introduce flexibility and strength training exercises to children slowly and safely.

Kids Fitness circuit classes combine a fitness circuit, Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) as outlined by the Coaching Association of Canada, pair drills, group games, and high-energy music. We include the following FMS that are used in most spots: throwing and catching, kicking and passing, leaping and jumping.

Through safe and small class sizes, the program will give kids the skills needed to participate in future physical activities and sports activities with confidence and ease. Putting kids in regular exercise programs can lead to them doing better in school, feeling less anxious and stressed out, making better friendships, and developing better self-confidence and self-esteem.

Our program meets CDC activity recommendations which suggest that youth ages 6 to 17 years old get 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity each day.

What To Bring

Kids must bring any medications to class (i.e. puffers and allergies) and a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for lateral motion. An after-class snack is recommended. Parents must submit a PARQ and Waiver form before their child participates in any program via email or in person on the day of.

Pick Up and Drop Off

Participants should be dropped off 5 minutes early to settle in and must be picked up on time. Parents can also wait outside of the class if they would like.

Safety On Our Minds

We will have a first aid kit on hand. To reduce the spread of colds and viruses, we will give out hand sanitizer before and after each class. Mask-wearing is welcome.

Kids Living With Special Needs

If your child has special needs, we can only accommodate them if one parent is present to help them with the activity. Because it’s 1 instructor per class, we must give our attention to all to create a safe experience. If this applies to you, please send a message to Sumera below before enrolling your child.

Our 0 Bullying Policy

We do not believe in “tough love” or the “no pain no gain” philosophy. Because if you're in pain, the only thing you'll gain is an injury, and that's anything but fun. Our instructors provide constructive feedback that aims to encourage kids to keep trying a movement or activity that they may be struggling in.

When it comes to peer-to-peer bullying, we do not tolerate bullying in any form. This includes verbal (yelling, swearing, gossiping, or body shaming) and physical (hitting, punching, kicking, pushing and grabbing, biting, throwing objects).

2 warnings and you’re out: we give 1 warning privately to the child and ask them to apologize and agree not to do it again. If the bullying persists, we give a second warning in the form of a time-out and will only allow the child back in once they apologize and agree not to do it again. If the bullying persists after the second warning, we remove them from the program. If a child is removed from the program, we will issue a refund for the remaining classes.
