About Me In A Nutshell
My name is Sumera, and I have more than 10 years of experience creating and managing up to 20 dance and fitness community programs a year virtually and in-person. In addition to organizing an annual free youth dance and safety series with some deeply caring youth organizations, I get to instruct programs for health centers, arts organization, newcomer and refugee organizations, kid’s clubs and the Toronto Libraries. Prior to starting Fusion Cardio Toronto, I have a history of working for high-end and community-level non profits with a focus on fundraising and donor relations, grant writing and portfolios, volunteer and event management, communications (direct mail, e-marketing), and corporate sponsorships and community partnerships.
Like many high schoolers in Ontario, I have been volunteering since the age of 16 and had the privilege of sitting on two physical activity committees including Hockey For Heart with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Get Moving Too! with the Afghan Women’s Organization.
